BAWSE (Brilliantly.Awesome.Women.Support.Eachother) is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization that was founded in 2017 by Tika Smith, a single mother of four children. She quickly formed a group of volunteers, whom she refers to as her tribe. "It takes a village..." Together, the tribe host dinners at local shelters, as well as birthday and holiday celebrations, among many other events for women and children in need. What great joy it brings us to see their beautiful faces light up.
Our Mission: BAWSE is dedicated to providing basic needs of women and children, and equip them to get back on their feet.
Our Vision: BAWSE empowers women to believe how brilliantly awesome they truly are, and with the right tools and guidance they can reach their full potential.
The Real Deal
- In 2017 One Night Count reported that 5,485 men, women, and children had no shelter in King County.
- In the 2015-2016 school year, 3,498 students in the Seattle School District were homeless, over 39,426 statewide.
- over 500 families are living in places not meant for habitation in King County
Together, we can make a difference. At BAWSE, we are dedicated to providing basic needs of women and children in need through our community outreach programs. BAWSE empowers women and children to believe how brilliantly awesome they truly are through Empowerment Conferences and Workshops.
